• Herring was at it''s peak from around late 19th century to early 20century in Rumoi, Hokkaido. Large schools of herring gatheredcrowds of seagulls over the Japanese Sea in huge numbers, thesurface of the ocean would become a milky white from the amount ofmilt in the water. 
• There would been seethed with fishermen’s dancing song and peoplewho were carrying basket on shoulder around with filledherring. 
• The local people would go to the coast to support the fishermanwhen the fish arrived, and in return the local people could returnhome with as many herring as their hands could hold as theirrewards. 
• The herring pies cookies were produced to depict and commemoratethose days. 
• We are proud of our rich-flavored herring pie which is a productmade with exclusively selected ingredients (flour, sugar, butter,etc.) and baked in a high temperature oven as a NorthernEuropean-style snack
